Before You Drive

To be able to drive, you must:

• Have a provisional driving licence (which can be obtained by filling in a D750 form from your local post office)
• Be 17 years + of age
• Be able to read a number plate from 20.5 metres

It is advisable to wear comfortable clothes and shoes when driving.

If during learning to drive, you decide to get some private practice with a parent or friend, you must:

• Make sure the car is road worthy, taxed and insured
• Make sure the person supervising is aged 21 years or over and has held a full driving licence for at least three years
• Make sure L plates are fitted to the front and back of the vehicle.
